Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? My greatest passion is people. I thought joining CV! would be an excellent way to meet and learn from fantastic people, and contribute to the Curtin (and our human) community. I was totally right.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I'd ask Shakespeare why he hasn't been returning my calls.

What are you studying? Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Taxation)
Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? To connect with other students, make friends, and to give back to the community.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? Little Miss Hug because I'm friendly and caring and like to make people feel better.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? The author Terry Prachett, one of my favourite authors. I'd ask him what his next book would have been about.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? To give back to the community and do my part to help lower the disparity in education.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? Mr Rush.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I would interview Gandhi. I could ask him any question and I'm sure I would get an interesting response.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? To help others - nothing is more fulfilling.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? Little Miss Splendid because she's a "hat person" and so am I.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? To be honest, I don't care to interview anyone in particular. But I love the question: What is your greatest accomplishment and how did it change you as a person? I feel like an interesting answer is always received with that question.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I have always had a passion for making a difference. I felt as though CV! would give me a great platform to implement change and connect with my community.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? Miss Chatterbox, I literally never stop talking.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? WSON, he’s a YouTuber who has been active on YouTube for over 10 years. I would love to know his secrets on how to self-brand and stay relevant.

What are you studying? Primary Education
Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I love helping people, especially children, and I love meeting new people and making new connections.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why?Little Miss Happy. I know this is a simple one but I always try to bring a light, happy atmosphere with me wherever I go. I think that having a positive attitude can be one of the greatest strengths in any situation.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? If I could interview anyone it would be Vincent Van Gogh. I would ask him what it felt like to be one of the most revered and influential artists of history, not so much to get his answer but so he knew how appreciated his work is now compared to when he was alive.

What are you studying? Masters of Public Health
Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? An avenue to extend my humanitarian service based on my background in health, being proactive to keep my abilities intact, giving back to the society by assisting in improving the quality of lives to those in need and the adventure that comes with being a volunteer is fun.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why?Mr. Adventure, I love taking a ride on a roller coaster through every journey life has to offer, I enjoy fun activities, a power house full of life and energy. I dare to take up challenges... Indeed I am adventurous.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I will interview my late father and ask him why he left things the way they were.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I joined Curtin Volunteers because I want to improve my leadership skill but also to have fun and give back to the community at the same time.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? Jeff Bezos - can I receive 15% of your fortune?

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? Brian Cox - does he ever experience existential crises?

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I joined CV! because I love meeting and working with like-minded people to make an impact on the community.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why?Little Miss Wise because she "brushed her teeth every day and did lots of other wise and sensible things" - I love brushing my teeth!
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? Cyril Callister, the man who invented Vegemite - I'd just say thank you!

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I wanted to contribute something to the wider community during my time at university.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? Little Miss Sleepy; usually busy and usually tired!
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? The judge who presided over the Larry Nassar case, Rosemary Aquilina. I would ask her what made her want to become a judge.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I wanted to become more involved in the Curtin community, and I wanted to 'give back' to WA in general. I think that civic engagement is important!
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? Little Miss Curious. I like getting to know people by asking them lots of questions.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I would interview Ira Glass, host of the podcast/radio show This American Life. I'd ask him for career advice. I'm not sure exactly how I would phrase it, but I so admire him for creating such meaningful work.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? Bette Midler, she is all inspiring with her music and her acting, her story of how she got started is remarkable.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!?I joined CV! because I love volunteering and helping others. Being a part of the CV! leadership team has led me to meet many other individuals across various faculties on campus that share the same passion as I do.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why?Mr Quiet describes me best because I am well-known for being a little bit introverted and quiet, which makes me a good listener so I am always willing to listen to anyone speak.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? The Queen, I would ask her what the meaning of life is.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I wanted to get involved in my community, learn about the world and people and expose myself to new, different, challenging and rewarding situations whilst giving back.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? Julius Caesar - what do you consider to be your greatest achievement?



Kate le Roux, Program Leader

What are you studying? Bachelor of Commerce
Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I started my first semester this year at Curtin and have had an absolute blast. I have attempted to joined a couple of clubs such as Curtin Amnesty, UN Youth (facilitator), Curtin Commerce Club and Enactus (as a vice president of projects). I am absolutely loving the whole university experience, yet I have been finding myself wanting to give, learn and experience more. This was when I came across ads for CV! and I knew from how much I had enjoyed previous volunteer activities that this might be just what I was looking for.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why?Little Miss Curious for sure because I am constantly finding myself wanting to learn why things are the way they are and how everything works. An example of this would be my course of study: Economics and International Relations. Economics teaches me how even the slightest movements/ripples on the other side of the world can have a profound effect on our economy and why. Where International Relations teaches my why countries and communities across the world are they way they are today and why.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? Elon Musk and I would ask him about 1 billion questions. Starting with 'With all of your work on the SpaceX project, do you believe that the moon landing in 1969 actually took place?'

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I joined to get more involved on campus and make some new friends.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? I think Mr Bump best describes me because I'm honestly a walking safety hazard. I am always falling, tripping and accidentally injuring myself.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? If I could interview one person it would be Maisie Williams. I am dying to know what's going to happen in the next season of GOT.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? CV! is a great opportunity to meet and work with new people. I joined CV! because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something different and challenging while enjoying my university life and also helping the community.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them?Min Yoongi; rapper/producer/song-writer. His music is raw and unapologetic but also poetic and bleeds so much emotion. I would simply like to sit down with him and listen to him talk about music, about his ideas, about his philosophies, about life and about the universe. I would love to learn from him.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I wanted to meet new people and improve my networking skills. Volunteering makes me happy and CV! is a great way to experience things while doing something for a cause.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? I would say I'm a combination of Little Miss Curious and Little Miss Hug, I'm curious about life in general and love spreading positivity.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? Dan Brown- my favourite author. I would love to have a conversation with him about his ideologies and inspirations.

Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why?Mr Messy because I am able to make a mess of my room 5 mins after cleaning it.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I would interview Thomas Edison and ask him what inspired him to use human hair when looking for a good filament when inventing the light bulb.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? Meet new people and get involved in the Curtin community.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? A confusing mix of Little Miss Busy and Mr Daydream.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? My grandfather, and ask him to tell me about his life because I unfortunately never got to meet him.

What are you studying? MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!?Because I thought the rural and remote program was something that looked very well structured and very engaging. I fit into my area of interest and passion.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why?I would probably pick myself as little Miss Curious. I think I endeavour to find out as much as I can about other people's characters and cultures, and also about the natural world.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I would interview Hilary Clinton, in order to ask about how she recovered from the 2016 election. I think there is merit in the pursuit of how to succeed, however also how to fail.



Nadialisa Tan Abdullah, Project Leader

What are you studying? Master of Finance 
Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? !? I have always been a strong advocate of volunteering. Although I must admit that ever since I completed my undergraduate degree a few years ago, I have not personally been as active in participating in volunteering opportunities as I was previously. Hence, I jumped on the chance to be a part of Curtin Volunteers! when the door opened. And hopefully through this experience, I will continue to play my part in the community even when I graduate.
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? Probably Little Miss Whoops. And unfortunately for me, as much as I try to watch where I'm waking, I somehow end up hitting myself against something, may it be the door or tree branches. *shakes head
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? This is a hard one. But if I had the chance, I would ask my late grandma, how did she manage to keep the family together even when it was just her alone most of the time in a foreign land?

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? Curtin Volunteers! has enabled me express my interest of service/ helping others in the community, giving back to those whose goodly deeds have had an effect on me. The program has also provided me with the opportunity to put my existing qualities and attributes towards worthy causes, work with and learn from amazing people and develop valuable skills through unique experiences.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I’d like to ask Otto Frederick Rohwedder what he thinks the greatest thing before sliced bread was.

Why did you join Curtin Volunteers!? I love meeting new people, taking on new challenges, and having a positive impact on the lives of others. CV! ticks all those boxes for me!
Tell us which Mr Men/Little Miss character describes you best and why? I would be Little Miss Busy, because I love always having something to do, something to look forward to, and a new project to work on.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would be one question you would ask them? I would want to chat to Mother Teresa just in general about her amazing life and how I could live mine to be more like hers.
