Fresh Start smoking cessation
Fresh Start is an 8-session program designed by the Cancer Council of WA to help smokers quit. Participants are expected to attend every session.
Fresh Start is a highly successful program designed by the Cancer Council of Western Australia which provides information, resources and support to smokers to quit smoking. It is a comprehensive 8-session course that covers issues such as nicotine addiction, managing withdrawal symptoms, weight control, stress management, recognising and planning for possible obstacles to quitting, staying stopped, and enjoying being a non-smoker.
The course will be facilitated by 2 Curtin counsellors who have been trained by the Cancer Council of WA to deliver the program. Participants are expected to commit to attend all 8 sessions and attend a pre-course individual meeting to discuss their interest in the program.
