Disability Standards for Education

The Disability Standards for Education 2005 require that courses or programs are designed in such as way that a student with disability is able to participate in learning experiences on the same basis as a student without disability.

Universities Australia guidelines

Universities Australia (formerly known as the Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee) has also provided guidelines for a student with disability, which require that:

  • Design of curricula should be inclusive and student centred
  • The delivery and assessment methods of courses should be inclusive
  • All learning environments should provide opportunities for equitable participation for students with  disability.
