Training and Awareness

LGBTIQ+ Awareness Training is designed to raise awareness and understanding of contemporary challenges and barriers faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) people.

Register for training

Curtin Staff can register for LGBTIQ+ training and workshops in iPerform,  through the Staff Portal.

Don't have access to the Staff Portal?  Email us to register your interest.

The training has a theoretical base, with historical and local context and understanding of emerging trends.

The session provides publications, case studies and scenarios to engage conversation and critical thinking around topics covered.

In addition, and beyond the training itself, participants are invited to join the Curtin Ally Network upon completion.  Network members will receive ongoing support and access to learning resources, Ally Network email updates, LGBTIQ+ Ally Network Yammer membership and be encouraged to attend network events.

Sessions run on the following dates during Semester 2, 2018 at Bentley Campus:

  • Wednesday 11 July
  • Tuesday 7 August
  • Thursday 6 September
  • Monday 8 October
  • Wednesday 7 November
