Community and Technological Camp (CommTECH) Highlight 2018 

CommTECH Highlight is designed for university students, academics, and professionals from all over the world to learn about the community and global issues through a variety of insightful but fun activities. The program includes courses, visit and discussion with government and non-government agencies, society engagement, Indonesian language course, learning traditional music and dances, visit main tourist destinations, and for sure tasting delicious Indonesian food.

Location: ITS, Surabaya, Indonesia

Dates: 24 January - 6 February 2018

Fee: approx  $600 USD (depending on the number of students participating) 

The fees covers: hotel accommodation, scheduled meals, tuition fee, workshop materials, airport pick up & drop off services, local transportation, trip to Mount Bromo, and river rafting.  

Fee does not include personal expenses, round-trip airfare, and travel insurance.

This program offers 2 fascinating courses:
Course A: Sustainable Urban Water Management
Course B: Smart City

New Colombo Plan (NCP) Opportunities  

The New Colombo Plan Mobility Program provides funding to Australian universities to support Australian undergraduate students to participate in semester-based or short term study, internships, mentorships, practicums and research in 40 host locations across the Indo-Pacific region.

Students participating in a NCP Mobility Project must:
  • be an Australian citizen. Students cannot receive a Student Grant to undertake a Mobility Project in a Host Location in which they have dual citizenship or residency rights;
  • be enrolled in an on-shore campus of an Australian University throughout the duration of the Mobility Project;
  • be undertaking a Bachelor Degree (Level 7) of Bachelor of Honours Degree (Level 8) as defined by the Australian Qualifications Framework at the commencement of their Mobility Project;
  • be between 18 and 28 years of age at the commencement of their Mobility Project (in some instances there is capacity to include some students over 28)
  • not have already commenced a period of overseas study in the same Host Location as the Mobility Project
  • not receive more than one short-term and one Semester grant (with or without an internship) during their Australian course of study. 

NCP Project 19097 – IIT Madras – AUD $7000 per student: one placement remaining for an eligible Science & Engineering student to study Semester 2, 2018. Applications close 21 January 2018.

NCP Project 22748 - Curtin Malaysia – AUD $7000 per student: one placement remaining for an eligible Science & Engineering student to study Semester 2, 2018. Applications close 21 January 2018.

This project offers you the opportunity to study for a semester at Curtin Malaysia. Located in Miri and bordering Borneo you will be offered the opportunity to engage in a vibrant and stimulating living and learning experience. The area encompasses oil and gas fields in Malaysia and nearby Brunei.
