Curtin Stadium are seeking Recreation Assistants for the upcoming brand new Kids Sports Programs. Recreation Assistants are responsible for the management, coaching and supervision of recreation based programs predominately for children following specific policies and guidelines

Applicants must be available to work during the day (approximately 8.30 am – 4.00 pm) predominately in school holiday periods.

Selection Criteria

The following criteria is essential to the position:

  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Working with children check
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Relevant experience in working with children and young people
  • Relevant experience in sports coaching
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication, assertiveness and customer service skills to both children and adults
  • Follow instruction, adhere to feedback and endeavour to work on and develop identified areas of improvement
  • Reliable and good time management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility

Curtin Stadium is seeking umpires for their 2018/19 Evening Social Sport Programs. Applicants will umpire their respective sports whilst acting as customer service representatives for the competition.

Applicants must be available evenings from 5.30 pm and lunchtimes from 12.00 pm on one or more of the following days:

  • Basketball - Monday and Wednesday evenings. Wednesday lunch
  • Netball - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
  • Touch (Rugby) - Wednesday evenings
  • Futsal - Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Wednesday lunchtime
  • Indoor Volleyball - Thursday lunch
  • Beach Volleyball - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (evening and lunchtime) and Thursday evenings
  • Floorball - Thursday evening

Selection Criteria

The following is essential to the position advertised:

  • Relevant experience in umpiring
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Sound knowledge of the sport and rules
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to feedback
  • Reliable
  • Excellent time management skills

It is desirable but not essential if the applicant has previous umpiring qualifications.

Sport and Recreation - Position will open October 2018

Launch your graduate sports career at Curtin and help make tomorrow better.

Curtin Stadium is seeking a driven early-career sports assistant looking to gain exposure in the sports industry.

This unique opportunity will involve working with industry professionals and your responsibilities will include providing administrative, promotional and logistical support to the Sports Recreation Program team in the delivery of various sporting activities organised for the Curtin Community.

A keen interest in the business of sport supported by a strong work ethic and self-reliance skills, including time management and organisational skills, attention to detail, along with the ability to meet deadlines are paramount to your success in this position.

Marketing, Events & Communications - Position closed for 2018 placement

The Graduate Officer program offers paid employment to recent graduates as a pathway to a more permanent position. Graduates have an opportunity to commence their career with Curtin Stadium in an environment that continues their professional development and training in a supervised workplace.

The term shall be nine months, commencing in February and concluding in November.

Health & Rehabilitation

The Fit and Able program will offer practical experience for health students interested in working in a professional learning environment. The program has been developed for special needs clients who require assistance to incorporate exercise into their lifestyle.    

As a volunteer you will attend one on one exercise sessions with clients and supervise their prescribed exercise programs.

Current Staff Opportunities

Staff at Curtin Stadium are provided with development opportunities to broaden their experience in the sport and recreation industry.  

Community Service Leave Training

Curtin Stadium staff are encouraged to make use of the community service leave training. As a guide, staff are encouraged to take up two full days per year away from normal work duties to volunteer at an appropriate sport, recreation or fitness event.

Early Career Exchange Program: UCLA & Curtin Stadium

A staff exchange program targeted at early career aspirants in the sport, recreation, fitness and events sector, specifically in a University setting. One selected current Curtin Stadium staff member will spend 13 weeks in Los Angeles, living and working on campus at UCLA.
