In a competitive job market, preparation for interview is essential. Your ability to communicate your suitability for a role is key to a successful interview.

Preparation for an interview, including practicing your interview technique, will be the strongest single determining factor in your success. You will need to be able to present your skills and attributes to a recruiter in a way that sets you apart from other candidates, and convinces them that you are the best person for the job.

You are able to practice your interview technique online. Once you have registered with our online interview platform, you can answer some practice questions and receive personalised feedback on your performance from our Careers Officer.

View the 'Interview Techniques and Selection Criteria' presentation for practical advice about how to prepare for interviews and how to write a selection criteria statement (presented May 2014). Please note - the slides in this presentation are difficult to view, and a readable version is available through UniHub.

Once you have reviewed these resources, contact Careers, Employment & Leadership if you wish to discuss a particular interview, or to book a 'mock interview' appointment with a Career Development Consultant.

What you can do now...

Complete the 'Interviews' module online through Curtin Challenge, or book in to a Professional Development Workshop to complete the module in person.
