Curtin student prepares to slide his way into Winter Olympic history

[Posted: 15 Feb 2018]

Curtin University student David Mari is set make his Olympic debut at the PyeongChang 2018 Games in the men’s 2man and 4man bobsleigh events starting on the 18th February (Day 9).

David was introduced to the sport of Bobsleigh in 2015 by fellow team mate and pilot Lucas Mata, and the pair will be competing in the 2man and 4man events for Australia.

Coming off the back of some promising results recently at the IBSF World Cup circuit in St Moritz in January, and a hard and fast track in PyeongChang, thanks to a week of below freezing temperatures, the team is primed to deliver some serious results.

David Mari and the rest of the Australian Bobsleigh team are set to become the best placed Australian sled team in history.

David is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Curtin University and successful juggling his sporting and academic commitments even in the lead up to such a huge event like the Winter Olympic Games.

Curtin University will watching and cheering when the Australian Bobsleigh team look to topple some international giants on the 18th February.

Go Australia!
