Perth 2016 World Masters Athletics Championships

Long-term Curtin Stadium community member Allan Billington is proud to be representing Australia at World Masters Athletes Championships being held in Perth from 25th October to 6th November.

The event will be held at various locations including WA Athletics Stadium Mt Claremont and ERN Clark Athletic Centre, Cannington.

Allan is competing in his age group in the 800m, 100m and 400m events.

He has been a Stadium member for over 7 years and some of his favourite group fitness classes include Spin/Rpm, pump/cx and Body Balance.

He also enjoys doing weights in the Curtin Stadium Fitness Centre and is a self-confessed morning Boot Camp participant.

Allan said he is a strong believer in having some fun and a laugh during workouts.

"I just love the fantastic modern Curtin Stadium facilities, the atmosphere, equipment and the staff," he said.

"Boot Camp has been an excellent preparation for the Championships."

Allan said he what inspired him was to represent Australia (in the full colour) and his friendly competition.

"Some wish to full on compete and others like me just enjoy participating - I’m an average runner so am competing for a bit of fun," he said.

Allan is competing in preliminaries (heat) on the following dates:

Thursday, 27 Oct, 1:50pm,            800m

Friday, 28th Oct, 1:25pm,               100m

Wednesday, 3rd Nov, 1:20pm,     400m

Allan doesn't like his chances of advancing to Finals against the World's best but is ranked 15th and could be a contender in one of the relay events.
