Meet Carl the Carnaby - our Curtin mascot

Our Curtin University mascot - Carl the Carnaby - is preparing for his second big year supporting all of our sporting student athletes and university events!

Here are a couple of fun facts about the Carnaby Cockatoo:

Favourite food
Seeds of Banksia, Dryandra, Hakea, Eucalyptus, Grevillea and Pine trees. (Favourite is the Pine Trees on Curtin University campus).

Key skills
Carnaby cocktaoos are loyal and pair for life.
They are an endangered species and can only be found in southern Western Australia.

You are likely to see Carl at a number of key events this year including:

  • Western University Games in Bunbury in July 2017
  • Gold Coast at Australian University Games in September 2017
  • Various on-campus events

If you see him around, make sure you give him a high-5!
