2017 Western University Games Results!

[Posted: 11 Jul 2017]

7 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze!

Western Australia’s five rival university students came together to compete in a multi-sports event like no other. The Western University Games (WUG) were held in Bunbury from 2 July to 5 July 2017. The Games are recognised as a perfect opportunity to provide university student athletes to compete against each other in a state sports competition.

Curtin University students won seven gold medals, four silver medals, and four bronze medals – coming in 2nd place overall to UWA. The games attracted 650 competitors with Curtin University teams making up the largest number of athletes travelling with 163 students across 13 different sports.

We would like to congratulate the students on their achievements and thank them for the hard work in preparing their teams to represent Curtin University at WUG 2017.

The teams are already preparing for the 2017 Australian University Games to be held in the Gold Coast from 24 – 30 September 2017 and we look forward to seeing them compete again this year.
