Curtin University and Hockey Australia have announced an innovative partnership that will see them collaborate on research, media and marketing activities.

The two-year relationship will provide Curtin students and staff with unique learning opportunities and these projects will assist the Australian men's and women's national hockey teams with their on-field performances.

As part of the agreement, the Curtin University logo will appear on the uniforms of the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos, providing Curtin with valuable exposure in many of its keys markets, including Australia and Asia.

The new agreement includes projects with the School of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science and Design and Art, as well as placement opportunities for students in a variety of fields of study including physiotherapy and sports science, Film and TV and events management.

It has been an exciting year for Curtin with sporting partnerships, and the new agreement with Hockey Australia will be similar to the Fremantle Dockers AFL club.

Curtin and Hockey Australia have a relationship that spans three decades as the Australian Institute of Sport set up its hockey division in Perth in 1984.

Both Curtin University and Hockey Australia have developed reputations for excellence and Curtin's Vice Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry believes both reputations will be further enhanced under this new agreement.
